Successful completion of the DC-Concealed-Carry-License-Course grants you firearm course qualification for the DC Firearms License This is a 16-hour course (two 8-hour days). The first day is classroom instruction, while the second day is classroom and range. For schedule conflicts, these days and range shooting can be scheduled at different intervals. If you decide to apply for DC with course exemptions (not taking the 16-hour course) we make no reservation as to whether your application will be accepted.
Firearms and ammunition are included. Safety glasses and electronic ear protection are included. Fingerprinting and licensing fee after successful completion of the course are to be paid and done so after making an appointment to go to MPD Headquarters. DO NOT BRING YOUR FIREARMS EVEN IF YOU ARE REGISTERING.
There is a $100 non-refundable deposit fee that can be placed to reserve a seat in our course. The payment for the DC-Concealed-Carry-License-Course is due within 12 hours of the start of the course. If you cannot pay this balance by this time, someone on the waiting list will be eligible for your seat for the weekend you signed up. If you cannot make a course that you have paid in full, you will be granted admittance and scheduling to the next available course date and time. If you have placed a deposit for a course and cannot attend, with notice prior to the start of the course, you can be admitted and scheduled for the next available course.
